Given : P and Q invest in a business in the ratio 7 is to 11

After 8 months P leaves the business

Profit of $47000 is made in the first year

To Find: P's share of the profit ?

1) $14000

2) $10000

3) $26000

4) $21000

Solution:

P and Q invest in a business in the ratio 7 is to 11

P invest = 7x

Q invest = 11x

P invest for 8 months hence  7x * 8  = 56x

Q invest for 1 year = 12 months Hence 11x * 12 = 132x

Total = 56x + 132 x  = 188x

Total Profit = 47000 $

P's Share = ( 56x/188x) * 47000

= 14000 $

Hence correct option is 1) $ 14000
