from the figure Δ BCL, P is the mid-point of BC and PS is parallel to BL.
Where, S is the mid-point of CL
So, CS=SL ----- (1)
Again, In Δ APS, Q is the mid-point of AP and QL is parallel to PS.
Where, L is the mid-point of AS.
So, AL=LS ----- (2)
From equations (1) and (2),
We get, AL = LS = SC
⇒ AC= AL+LS+SC
⇒ AC= AL+AL+AL
⇒ AC=3AL
∴ AL= 1/3AC
