The ratio of q:r is 13:16

GIVEN

P is greater than q by 60%

P is greater than r by 30%

TO FIND

The ratio of q and r

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows -

It is given,

P is greater than q by 60%

And,

p is greater than q by 30%

We know that,

If a = b,

b = c

then,

a = c

Therefore,

p = 160% × q

100p = 160q (equation 1)

Also,

p is greater than r by 30%

100p = 130r (equation 1)

Equating (1) and (2)

160q = 130r

16q = 13r

 \frac{q}{r}  =  \frac{13}{16}

Hence, The ratio of q:r is 13:16
