If p is constant,
dp/dx=0 and d/dx[log(px-y)]=(p-dy/dx)/(px-y),
assuming logs to base e,
So (p-dy/dx)/(px-y)=0
and assuming that px-y is not zero,
p-dy/dx=0 and so dy/dx=p.
