Dear Student.

P(m) = m^{2} -\frac{3}{1} m+1

P(1) = 1^{2} -\frac{3}{1}*1+1

P(1)= 1 -3+1

P(1)=2-3

P(1)=-1

P(-1) = (-1)^{2} -\frac{3}{1}*(-1)+1

P(-1) = 1+3+1

P(-1)=2+3

P(-1)=5

Hope it helps

Thanks

With Regards.

Solution :

Given p(m) = m² - 3m + 1

i ) p(1) = 1² - 3( 1 ) + 1

= 1 - 3 + 1

= 2 - 3

= -1

ii ) p( -1 ) = ( -1 )² - 3( -1 ) + 1

= 1 + 3 + 1

= 5

Therefore ,

p(1) = -1 ,

p(-1) = 5
