p- Methylaniline is more basic than p-nitroaniline since the methyl group in p- Methylaniline is a +I group, ( e- releasing group) thus increasing the e- density on the ring, and making it more basic . Whereas, the nitro group of p-nitroaniline is a -I group, (e- withdrawing group) thus decreasing the e- density on the ring, and making it more acidic.
