In Methoxy Benzoic Acid,we have Resonance or mesomeric effect which stabilizes the carboxylate anion. ... So, since the Intermolecular Attraction is more stronger than the Resonance effect, the Nitro benzoate is more stabilized than Methoxy Benzoate. So, Nitro Benzoic Acid is more acidic.
