Given :- P, Q and R completed a certain project working together. The number of hours for which P worked on the project was 2/3of that for which Q worked on the project, which in turn was 2/5 of that for which R worked on the project. The number of hours for which R worked is what fraction of the total number of hours for which all three worked ?

Answer :-

we have,

→ P worked on the project for = (2/3) of Q worked .

so,

→ P time = (2/3) * Q time

→ P/Q = (2/3)

→ Q : P = 3 : 2

and,

→ P = (2/5) of R worked .

→ P/R = 2/5

→ P : R = 2 : 5

then,

→ Q : P : R = (3 * 2) : (2 * 2) : (2 * 5) = 6 : 4 : 10 = 3 : 2 : 5

therefore,

→ R worked for = (5/3 + 2 + 5) = 5/10 = (1/2) (Ans.)

Hence, R worked for half of the total time for which all three worked .
