∴ 3- 5√2  = p / q (where q ≠ 0 and p & q are co-prime )

-5√2 = p / q - 3

-√2 = p / (5q) -3

√2 = - p +15 q / 5q

here, -p + 15 q / 5q is rational

but √2 is irrational

∵ irrational no.≠ irrational no.

∴ our assumption of taking 3 - 5√2 as rational no. was wrong
