Explanation:

Power(P) = Potential difference (V) X Current (I)

So

Now by the ohm's law

I =V/R

On substituting value of current in the equation

P=VI

We get

P= V x V/R

P=V^2 / R

We know that

Also, V=IR so, that I =V/R ----------- (2)

Using equation (2) in (1), we get
