p(x) = 21x² + 26x + 8, d(x) = 3x + 2
By using factor theorem, find the other factor of the above polynomial p(x), where d(x) is a given factor.

Hi ,

It is given that ,

p(x) = 21x² + 26x + 8 ,

d(x) = 3x + 2

3x + 2 ) 21x² + 26x + 8 ( 7x + 4
********** 21x² + 14x
_________________
****************** 12x + 8
*******"********** 12x + 8
_________________
Remainder ( 0 )

Therefore ,

p(x) = ( 3x + 2 )( 7x + 4 )

Other factor is ( 7x + 4 )

By using factor theorem, dividing p( x ) by d( x ),

On dividing p( x ) by d( x ), we get that other factor of p( x ) is 7x + 4
