p(x)=

3 {x}^{2}  + x - 1

q(x)=x+1

x+1=0

x=-1

p(-1)=

3( - 1 {}^{2} )  +  1 -  1

3+1-1

4-1

3

Hence x+1 is not the factor of the following polynomial.
