first degree polynomial is of the form p(x) = ' ax + b '

second degree polynomial is of the form q(x) = ' px² + qx + c '

p(x)*q(x) = (ax + b)*(px² + qx + c)

              = apx³ + aqx² + acx + bpx² + bqx + bc

              = (ap)x³ + (aq + bp)x² + (ac + bq)x + bc

since highest power in the above equation is 3

above equation is a third degree polynomial.

p(x)*q(x) is a third degree polynomial.
