Answer:

k=5 a = - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

P(x) = x4 – 6x3 + 16x2 – 25x + 10

q(x) = x2 – 2x + k, r(x)= x + a,

To find: k and a

After dividing p(x) by g(x) (long division method)

we get r(x) = (2k-9)x-k(8-k)+10 but the remainder =x + a

on comparing and solving we get 2k-9=1 , k=5 and a= -k(8-k)+10= -5
