the point P. Hence find ‘k’ if point ‘P’ lies in the line 2x – y + k = 0.​

Given that P (x,y) divides the line segment joing A (1,1) and B (5,8)

AP:AB=1:3

AP:PB =1:2

2x-y+k =0

2 (3)-(-2)+k =0

6+2+k=0

k=-8 .
