पं॰ विष्णु शर्मा प्रसिद्ध संस्कृत नीतिपुस्तक पंचतन्त्र के रचयिता थे। नीतिकथाओं में पंचतन्त्र का पहला स्थान है। उपलब्ध प्रमाणों के आधार पर कहा जा सकता है कि जब इस ग्रंथ की रचना पूरी हुई, तब उनकी उम्र ८० वर्ष के करीब थी। वे दक्षिण भारत के महिलारोप्य नामक नगर में रहते थे।
