PA is a tangent to the circle with centre O.if BC=3cm,AC=4cm and triangle ABC congruent PAO then find OA and OP/AP

Answer:

PO/PA = 5/4

In ΔBCA, ∠C = 90°

as tangent is perpendicular to radius so,

AB² = AC² + BC² = 3² + 4² ⇒ AB = 5

AB is diameter and O is center so,

OA = 5/2 = 2.5

As ΔACB is congruent to ΔPAO so,

AC / PA = BC / AO = AB/PO

4 /PA = 3/2.5 = 5/PO

PO/PA = 5/4
