Paces A and B are 100km apart on a ghway. Once car starts from A and another car from B at the same time .if cars travel i the same direction at different speed, they meet in 5 hours . If they travel towards each other , they meet in 1 hour . What are the speed of the two cars?

Let the speed of first car be X km/hr.

so, again let the speed of second car be Y km/hr.

A/q we have,

5x - 5y = 100. ( Distance is equal to time × speed )

5 ( x - y ) = 100

x - y = 20 ---------- (1 )

Also we have,

x+ y = 100 ------- (2)

Adding equation (1 ) and (2) we get,

2 x = 120

x = 60 km/hr.

from (1) we have,

x - y = 20

Putting value of x , we get.....

60 -20 = y

40 = y

therefore, y = 40 km/hr

Hence , x = 60 km/hr and y = 40 km/hr.
