Answer:

Cost price ( for Paddy ) was Rs 1800.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost price of the bicycle be Rs a.

Given,

Paddy sells a bicycle for 1170 Rs at a loss of 35 percent.

= > Selling price + loss = Cost price

= > Rs 1170 + 35% of Rs a = Rs a

= > 1170 = a - 35% of a

= > 1170 = 65% of a

= > 1170 = 65 / 100 x a

= > 1170 x 100 / 65 = a

= > 1800 = a

Hence the cost price ( for Paddy ) was Rs 1800.

Putting Values in Above Formula we get :-

\red\leadsto \rm \:CP = \frac{1170 \times 100}{(100 - 35)} \\ \\ \red\leadsto \rm \:CP = \: \frac{1170 \times 100}{65} \\ \\ \red\leadsto \rm \:\large\red{\boxed{\tt\blue{CP}\green{=}\purple{Rs}\orange.\pink{1800}}} \:
