Solution

Area of trapezium = 1/2 × h × ( b1 + b2)

144 = 1/2 × 24 ×( b1 + b2)

144 = 12 (b1+ b2)

b1 + b2 = 12 m

=> $\dfrac{144}{12}$ = sum of parallel sides
