Good question..

π

Pi is denoted as the ratio of circumference of a circle to its radius. Usually we use the value of π as 22/7 or 3.14

But, we also know that Pi is not a rational number. Then how can we express π as 22/7 where p and q are integers and q is not a zero?

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER:

The decimal expansion of π (22/7) is :

3.14159265358979323846264338327950288 41971......

Which is a non terminating and non recurring drcimal expansion.

Therfore, this makes us underatand that,

π is an irrational number and 22/7 and 3.14 are just the approximate values, made easy for the mathematical convenience.

So next time, don't be confused with rational and irrational numbers.

π indeed is an irrational number, 22/7 and 3.14 are just the approximate values.

Hope it helps ✌️
