Given:- P and Q are the points on the sides DC and AD of a parallelogram ABCD.
To Show :- Ar (APB) = Ar (BQC)
Proof:-
In ΔAPB and parallelogram ABCD
AB is the base and AB || CD
Ar (ΔAPB) = 1/2 Ar (ll gm ABCD) ___ (eq 1)
Similarly,
In ΔBQC and parallelogram ABCD
BC is base and BC || AD
Ar (ΔBQC) = 1/2 Ar (ll gm ABCD) ____ (eq 2)
On comparing (eq 1) and (eq 2) we get,
Ar (APB) = Ar (BQC)
Hence, proved
