Lie and its Consequences
We should refrain from telling lies as it can result in loss of various kinds. I became victim of my own lie. It was Sunday; I was relaxing at home. I had no intention of being disturbed or intruded upon.
I was enjoying my favourite TV program. Suddenly, the bell rang! I got panicked! I immediately instructed my wife: “If anyone is there, tell him I am not at home.” So my wife carried out the instructions.
When she came upstairs I asked: “Who was it?” She replied: “Someone from Suzuki Motor Corporation wanted to see you. But as instructed by you I told him you are not home. However, he gave me his number and asked you to call him when you get home.”
I took the number and thought I would call later. So next day I called the number and introduced myself. The voice on the other side told me: “I am from Suzuki Motor Corporation. You have won the lucky prize of rupees 50000/-. Our computer picked your name randomly. Kindly bring your identity proof tomorrow and claim your prize amount. I thanked him. After hanging up I resolved never to tell lies again in my life. My lie would have cost me the windfall!
