During the COVID-19 pandemic, the whole world is trying to find a way to deal with the dreadful disease. Surely, vaccination is the best way but until any vaccine is developed which will take quite a long time we needs alternate method and it is where the concept of Lockdown comes into the picture.
Lockdown is basically just shutting down of most non essential works. Well these works are also essential but not as important as the daily essential services. Even essential services are also done with decreased workforce. All of this is done to slow the transmission of the pandemic. We know that we can't erase the pandemic until a vaccine is developed but we can minimise the loss to the lowest extent. Lockdown has also resulted in the restoration of nature and natural resources which would never happen without it.
But true is a universal true statement and that is everything has merits also has demerits and same is true in this case also. The demerit is that our economy has fallen drastically. It is estimated that would be the the second biggest economic crisis after the Great Depression that led to the World War II. So, it is a very deep topic to discuss but we should follow what our government is instructing us as this is the best we fellow citizens can do.
