Greed is just fear, exaggerated. It stems from the survival instinct, which is part of all of us. It comes from the erroneous (and subconscious) fear, sometimes driven by life experiences, that if you don’t accumulate as much as possible, you will not survive. But it is not greed that is the root of all evil. Fear is a far more likely candidate.
