It was the month of May. It was very hot day. I heard a loud noise. I got up and ran outside I saw that a house of my neighbour was on fire. The flames were rising to the sky. Everyone feared that the fire would spread the whole locality. Many people were running with buckets full of water and bags full of sand. They were throwing water on the fire. Many men, women and children had gathered. Soon two fire-engineers reached the spot. The firemen began to throw a lot of water with their pipes. They entered the burning house. They helped the family to come out. Fortunately no one was killed. It took the fire brigade about half an hour to control the fire. Luckily, there was no loss of life. Whenever I am reminded of the scene, my heart begins to sink.
A burning house
It was the Monday afternoon of a hot summer in Kolkata, that day was so hot that everything seemed boiling. I was returning from school and then suddenly I saw from the window of the pool car, a huge mob was shouting near a housing, which was burning. At first, I thought that the fire on the house was on that much but as I realized it was a horrific incident.
I could see, people were running out from that house. Our pool car stopped and our driver uncle asked what had exactly happened, then a man in reply told that the cause of the fire was still unknown to them. We could see two fire brigades and a rescue team, who were evacuating the victims.
In the end, we could see the fire had stopped with the intervention of the fire brigades and there were no such serious injuries to the victims.
