One cannot feel anxious, angry or sad when laughing. It reduces stress and increases energy and enables one to stay focused and accomplished more. Humour enables to see the situation in a more realistic and less threatening light. A humorous perspective creates psychological distance which can help avoid the feeling of being overwhelmed.
