Ishwar Chanda Vidyasagar , born on 26th September 1820, in West Bengal was a great philosopher and social reformer as well as a teacher. He had arranged a set of alphabets in Bengali named "Borno Parichay", still many schools in Bengal region follows this sequence and taught in school. He owes a lot to Bengal. He was someone who heavily defied the operations performed on women. It is said that he belonged from a poor family. His father used to cook in a shop. He did schooling just for three years. And because of excessive poverty , he had to leave. but , his father wanted to take his education further. He gained many scholarships during schoolings and cleared his law examination. At the age of 14 he was made to marry Dinamani. Then at the age of 21 he joined Fort William College. During that time girls were not allowed to take part in learning ,and schooling. Vidyasagar started to protest for that and also he opposed for the other philosophical sciences in many ways.
