Modern Day Society
Today’s society is incredibly technical, fast-paced, and very different from many years ago. Technology is without a doubt helpful to society as a whole, think medicine and having research at our fingertips; however, it can be challenging for those that are from a time where technology was practically non-existent to accept. In recent years technology has taken over as a necessity, when in reality our ancestors survived without it. Technology is making it easier for people that are incapable of reading, writing, or thinking critically because it can be done for them. For others, mainly those without disabilities, it is easier to just google information one needs as opposed to thinking about it and coming up with a logical solution, or asking others for their input first.
Those many years before us used the resources they had in front of them to make a living, these resources included the land to grow food and the shelter around them, it did not include cell phones for every person in the home and access to a grocery store on every corner. Farmers used the land to make a living for their families, and each person in the home helped make that possible. Well-educated professionals made a living within the community, providing hope to those less fortunate. Cell phones came several years after technology began to take over and make its debut, they were just an added bonus. Education was harder to come by in the past, where today it is practically mandatory up to a certain age and then further education is an option if so desired. To make a decent living further education is highly desired.
