The sun is an endless source of energy. It gives us energy in the form of light and heat. It is called solar energy. It is the best source of energy. It is inexhaustible unlike other conventional sources of energy – coal, petrol, kerosene etc. This energy has recently been put to various uses. Now it can be used in heating water, cooking, lighting and operating mechanical devices. The scientists are sweating their brains to find out how to make solar energy more easily available and usable. In view of acute crisis of conventional energy in near future, it will be a possible solution to our ever-increasing demand of energy. Moreover, it is eco-friendly. For, it does not pollute air like other conventional sources of energy. Again, solar energy is particularly helpful in remote areas of the country where electricity has not yet reached. So if it is utilised in our country, it will be a real boon to us.
