believe that success comes through hard work. You cannot accomplish anything without dedication. Knowledge is a key to success. Knowing the simplest thing in life, learning something new each day is succeeding.
Everything I have I had to work hard to get. My 1st grade year was horrible, Spanish was my first language and it was very difficult to learn English. At school I couldn’t understand what the teacher was saying I would just see her mouth move and I would just stare at her. I remember the time we had an assignment in class and we had to color a house that was on a long piece of paper, and then glue candy on it. After she told the class what to do she would walk over to me and explain to me what to do, of course everyone knew I didn’t understand so I felt worthless. She walked over to the round table where all the supplies were for the assignment and grabbed supplies for her self. Then walked back to me and sat down right next to me and showed me exactly what to do. She made me feel I belonged, that I was part of the class.
My 1st grade teacher was indulgent she never left anyone behind; she would explain everything to me in a way I was able to understand. I have an older brother and sister, but they were always busy with their own things and never had time to help me. My parents were busy working to pay bills and to make sure we never needed anything. I understand what they were doing for us though. There is always going to be a brick wall in life; you just have to find a way to go through it. I figured out how by climbing it.
Every day I work hard to get through school and life in general .Working hard has got me many rewards; I am a proud member of National Honor Society. A lot of my hard work has paid off but I continue to fight each day. I am very proud of standing where I am now.
I never believed I would make it this far. I want to pursue the dream of mine to become a great pediatrician. I know that if I pursue this dream I will be devoted to it. Just as I was helped I want to help others in life too.
All accomplishments start with a choice. You need to try everyday and never let anyone or anything drag you down. Everyone is equal; no one has more chance than you. Although at times it seems as if we do not have that chance; it is all up to you in the end. Success will come with self-determination. Never say that you can not overcome something without trying first. There will always be obstacles that you are going to have to overcome and it won’t be easy. But you’ll be glad that you made it to where you want to be, in the end.
