A Typical Sunday
We meet together every Sunday at William Watson Elementary School. The gym has been set up for our service and the classrooms converted for the kids’ Sunday school lessons. You may be surprised to meet in an Elementary School, but we believe that God can be found everywhere; from your living room couch, to the neighborhood park or school. He is in the everyday spaces of life, eager to meet us.
As you enter the school’s foyer you will be greeted by the smell of fresh coffee, the sounds of children playing, and friends laughing and visiting together. At 10:30, the worship team begins to play and the service begins.
After a few minutes of singing, the children are dismissed and head down the halls to their classrooms. We have several teams of volunteers that will teach the kids about God and the Bible in a learning experience designed just for them. Once the kids have cleared out of the Gym, the adults sing a few more songs and then listen to a specially prepared message, usually presented by Pastor Mike. The message connects the truths of the Bible with everyday life. It is understandable and relevant to anyone, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. People are listening, and even laughing along with the occasional funny story.
After the service, everyone gathers and visits one more time before heading home.
We hope every week brings new and applicable teachings, a deeper relationship with God and perhaps some new friends that will meet you right where you are in life and support you there.
