Lohri Festival – Short Paragraph

Festival of Lohri is a very popular Punjabi festival celebrated with great joy and happiness. Lori is celebrated in winters when day becomes shortest and night becomes longest.

In this festival, people celebrate the harvest of the crops by lighting a bonfire, singing and dancing in praise of dulha batti. It is celebrated mainly in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Mumbai.

There is also a permanent food for the festival which includes sarson ka saag, makke ki roti, mungfali, popcorn. These are served as prasad and everyone loves to eat this prasad and enjoy singing and dancing.

People have special dance for this festival which is bhangra and gidda. It also signifies the starting of new financial year for the farmers.
