Answer:

Palm tree by Rabindranath Tagore is a beautiful imaginative poem about lost desires of a palm tree. Tagore has personified the palm tree that dreams about flying in the air like a bird as the wind is blowing strong. He compares the palm tree to be a tall single-legged giant describing its valour of being strong and tall compared to other trees.

The palm fronds sway to the blowing winds just like how the bird’s wings flap while flying. So, the palm tree dreams of flying like the birds high in the skies and reaching the stars and beyond. But when the wind stops blowing suddenly, the fronds cease to sway and the dream ends there abruptly.

The palm tree realizes the reality of where it belongs and the way it is strongly grounded to the earth and appreciates the value of the earth. Tagore exemplifies with how sometimes we also think too much about us without knowing the base facts, the dream of unrealistic things and later come back to reality.
