Parcel B is 3 times as heavy as Parcel A. The total mass of Parcel A and Parcel B is 10 kg. How heavy is Parcel B?

Answer:

Let the mass of parcel A be x kg

Therefore , the mass of parcel B = 3x ( given)

Mass of parcel A + Mass of Parcel B = 10

x + 3x = 10

4x = 10

x=10/4

x=5/2

x=2.5 kg

The mass of parcel B = 3x = 3x2.5 = 7.5 kg
