months is 20% off and the rent is Rs 6000 per month. At Silver city apartment, the first
month is 50% off and the rent is 8000 per month. Which apartment will be cheaper for the
first two months?

There is a 20% off on the first month for this apartment.

∴ The rent for the first month is Rs 6000-(20% of 6000)

∴ The total rent for the first two month of Galaxy apartment is Rs 4800+ Rs 6000= Rs 10800/-

The rent at Silver city is Rs 8000/-

The first month attracts a discount of 50%

that is Rs 8000-(50% of 8000) = Rs 8000-Rs 4000= Rs 4000/-

The second month however does not have any discount

So the rent of second month is Rs 8000/-

∴ The total rent for the first two months at Silver city is Rs 4000+Rs 8000= Rs 12000/-

Comparing the rent of both the apartments we find the rent of Galaxy apartment is cheaper for the first two months as the rent is Rs 10800 compared to Rs 12000 of Silver city.
