Average velocity

=total displacement (d)

Total time(t)

Total displacement or d =total speed ×total time

=(3+4+5)m/s×(20+20+20)sec

=(12×60) metre

=720m

Therefore average velocity =

720

60 =12m/s

Hope its correct ,....

Answer:

Total distance covered by particle d=v1   t1  +v2  t2  +v3  t3

∵t 1  =t 2 =t 3 =20sec

d=20(3+4+5)= 240 m

Total time, T= 3×20 =60sec.

Avg. velocity, v=  d /T

                        =  240/60 =4m/s
