Heavy rain with thunderstorms are likely over coastal Maharashtra and Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir and Nagaland.

Widespread thunderstorms are likely over NCR, Western Himalayan, Himalayan, North East, Gangetic Plain and Konkan Coast. Also, fairly widespread thunderstorms are likely over semi arid regions except NCR, Central Highlands and Deccan Plateau.

Scattered thunderstorms are likely over Western & Eastern Ghats, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep with dense fog over Trans Himalayas.

Thursday - State/Regional Forecast

Areas where heavy rainfall is expected from Saturday onwards include coastal Maharashtra for the next 5 days, some parts of between southern Chhattisgarh and southwestern Odisha from Friday to Sunday, southeast Rajasthan on Saturday morning, and central Rajasthan on Sunday morning. Also, heavy rainfall will be seen over eastern Maharashtra on Sunday and in Gujarat on Monday.

A cyclonic circulation on Central India will move to southwest, in between eastern Rajasthan and western Madhya Pradesh this weekend while maintaining its current power. It is expected to develop from the Monday morning in northeastern Gujarat. Later, it is likely to alter its course to the west and move to the border with Pakistan on Tuesday afternoon. Gale winds of up to 65 km/h are partially expected over Gujarat from Monday afternoon to Tuesday evening.

The maximum temperatures will be 4-8°C lower than normal over the large areas of North and Central India. Especially, they will be 8°C below normal over North India from Friday to Sunday. Maximum temperatures in Delhi is likely to be below 30°C on Friday and Saturday and 40°C or more over western Rajasthan.

Heavy rainfall is likely over coastal Maharashtra, some parts of between southern Chhattisgarh and southwestern Odisha, Southeast and Central Rajasthan, Eastern Maharashtra and Gujarat.

A cyclonic circulation over central India is likely to bring heavy rain with thunderstorms over coastal Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh. Fairly widespread thunderstorms are expected over semi arid regions except NCR, Central Highlands, Deccan Plateau and scattered thunderstorms over Western and Eastern Ghats.

Isolated thunderstorms are also likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep. Widespread thunderstorms are likely over NCR, Western Himalayan, Himalayan, North East, Gangetic Plain and Konkan Coast with dense fog over Trans Himalayas.

The maximum temperatures of 40°C or more are very likely over western Rajasthan and the air quality is likely to be very poor over North and East India and in major cities like Delhi and Kolkata.
