Patol Babu’s passion for acting is quite commendable. There was a time in his past when this passion for acting verged on the point of obsession and mania. However, with the passage of time and in the responsibilities of life he lost touch with it gradually. His passion was revived when he got a chance to act in a movie.  When he came to know that he was just to say the word ‘Oh!’, he became very disappointed. He wanted to get away from the scene. He did not want to play such a small role.

However, his old passion for acting was revived. He remembered his mentor, Guru, Gogon Pakrashi’s words. He had told him many years ago that he must never refuse any role, however small it might be. As an artist his aim should always be to make the most of the opportunity, and squeeze the last drop of meaning out of his lines. Remembering his Guru’s words, Patol Babu resolved to give his best to the small role offered to him. He rehearsed it many times, infusing different shades of emotions into the word ‘oh’. This shows he was very meticulous.  At last the scene was shot, and everyone appreciated his acting. Finally, he left the shooting scene modestly, without even receiving his payment.
