Pavan is older than pranay by 8 years. if their ages are in the ratio of 13:9. how old is pavan

let paven is x and pranav is y.

x = y + 8 -----(1)

x / y = 13 / 9


( y + 8 ) / y = 13 / 9



9 ( y + 8 ) = 13 y


9y + 72 = 13 y


4y = 72


y = 18


put value of "y " in (1) , we get



x = 18 + 8 = 26


x = 26 years

hence pavan is 26 years old .
