G<0 means spontaneous rn

G>0 means non spontaneous rn.

PbO2 to PbO is a spontaneous rn but SnO2 to SnO is a non spontaneous one.

therefore, PbO is more stable than PbO2 and SnO is more stable than SnO2.

when we look at oxi state in PbO,

x+(-2)=0 => x=+2

when we look at oxi state in SnO2,

x+2(-2)=0 => x=+4
