m ,pieces of equal size are cut off. How many pieces are cutoff , if each piece is
2 \times \frac{1}{4}
m long ?

length of the rope is 58*(1/2)
= 117/2

each fraction of the cut rope measures 2*(1/4)
=9/4

total number of pieces = (117/2)/(9/4)
= 26 pieces

total length of the rope = 58 \times \frac{1}{2}

= 29

length of one piece = 2 ×  \frac{1}{4}

= \frac{1}{2}

number of pieces can be cutted = 29 ÷ \frac{1}{2}

= 29 × 2

= 58

therefore 58 pieces can be cut by that rope.
