                   Peculiarities Of Mango Tree:

Mango trees have a longer span of life than other tropical trees. They are deep-rooted, evergreens with a height of '90 feet' and width of 80 feet.

The mature terminal branches holds the flower panicles which have many hundred white flowers. Most of the flowers function as male providing pollen, some are bisexual bearing fruit. Pollination is through bees, flies.

The flesh of the fruit is sweet, juicy and sometimes fibrous. The mango fruit has only one seed which is flattened and it sticks to the fleshy part of mango. It contains one or more embryos depending upon the variety.

India is known for the largest production of mango in the world. There are about 1000 varieties of mangoes where they are often called the 'king of fruits'.
