in water oxygen is not in free state it is mixed with hydrogen and is water we can't take in water so we need oxygen in free state and in air there are more gases than oxygen so our lungs only take oxygen and give out other gases with carbon dioxide..

Answer:
when we go into the water we would die because if you stay in the water for a long time you would drink a lot of water than your kidneys can send out so that it'll dilute the sodium in your bloodstream, causing cells to swell Most of the reported cases of life-threatening water intoxication have involved intense physical activity, such as military training or running a marathon.
