perimeter of parallelogram= 2(length + breadth)

given that x= 50+y

perimeter=500

therefore, perimeter= 2(x+y)

500= 2( 50+y + y)

500= 100 + 4y

500 - 100 = 4y

400 = 4y

y= 400/4

y= 100 cm

therefore, x = 50+y= 50+100= 150 cm
