Answer:

Let the breadth be x.

then the length=5x-4

perimeter=40 m

therefore,

2(x+5x-4)=40

12x-8=40

12x=40+8=48

x=48/12=4

breadth=4m

length=4*5-4=16m

area=16*4=64 m sq.

Solutions :-

Let the breadth be x
So, Length = 5x - 4

Given :
Perimeter of a rectangle = 40 m

We know that,
Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (Length + Breadth)
=> 40 = 2 (5x - 4 + x)
=> 40/2 = 6x - 4
=> 20 + 4 = 6x
=> 24 = 6x
=> 24/6 = x = 4

Therefore,
Breadth = x = 4 m
Length = 5x - 4 = (5 × 4) - 4 = 16 m

Find the area of rectangle :-

Area of rectangle = (Length × Breadth) sq. units
= (16 × 4) m²
= 64 m²

Hence,
Area of rectangle = 64 m²
