Let the breadth be 'x' m.
So the length becomes 'x+2' m.

Now.
Perimeter of a rectangle = 2 (length + breath )
40 = 2 ( x + x + 2 )
x + x + 2 = 20
2x = 18
x = 9 m.

Breath = 9 m.
Length = 9+2 = 11 m.

Area of the rectangular floor
= length * breadth
= 9*11
= 99 sq.m

Now,

Rate of tiling the floor = 5 / sq.M

Cost of tiling the floor = Area * Rate
= 99 * 5
= Re. 495

let breadth be xm.
then, length=(x+2)m
perimeter=2(l+b)
40=2(x+x+2)
40/2=2x+2
20=2x+2
20-2=2x
18=2x
9=x

so,
breadth=x m=9m
and
length=(x+2)m=(9+2)m=11m

now,
area=l*b
=(9*11)m²=99m²

cost of tiling the floor per square metre=5
cost of tiling the floor=$(5*99)=$495.
