take 4 as common..
4(a+2) is the perimeter.
Perimeter of a square = 4 times the side of a square.
side of a square = perimeter/4
side= 4(a+2) /4
side = a+2.
diagonal of a square is √2 times the side of a square.
diagonal = √2(a+2)
diagonal = (√2a+2√2)cm.
