Solution

Given That :-

  • Perimeter of a square is 40 m

Find :-

  • value of diagonal and area of this square .

Explanation

Let,

  • Side of square = x m

Using Formula,

Perimeter of square = 4 × side

Diagonal of square = Side2

Area of square = (Side)²

________________________

First, calculate side of square,

➡ Perimeter of square = 4 × side

keep value of perimeter

➡ 40 = 4 × side

➡ side = 40/4

➡ side = 20 m

Now, calculate diagonal of square

➡ Diagonal of square = Side√2

keep value of side,

➡ Diagonal of square = 20√2

[ √2 = 1.414 ]

➡ Diagonal of square = 20 × 1.414

➡ Diagonal of square = 28.28 m

Now, calculate Area of square,

➡Area of square = (Side)²

keep value of side,

➡Area of square = (20)²

➡Area of square = 20 × 20

➡Area of square = 400 m²

Hence

  • Diagonal of square = 28.28 m
  • Area of square = 400 m²
