Step-by-step explanation:

\huge\sf\underline\green{given,}

Perimeter of rectangle is 40cm

.: length of rectangle is more than double

its breadth by two =

b = breadth

l= length

l= 2b+2cm,b= bcm

\huge\fcolorbox{black}{purple}{required formula}

perimeter \: of \: rectangle = 2(l + b)

\huge\bf\underline\red{solution:}

.: perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+b)

40cm = 2(2b+2cm+bcm)

40cm = 2(3bcm + 2cm)

40cm = 6bcm+4cm

40cm-4cm = 6bcm

6bcm = 36cm

.: b= 6cm

.: l = 2b+2cm = 2(6cm)+2cm = 12cm+2cm

.: l= 14cm

.: length of rectangle= 14cm

breadth of rectangle = 6cm

\huge\sf\underline\red{Solution}

Given Perimeter of rectangle is 40cm

ATQ

Breadth of rectangle is x

Length of rectangle is 2x + 2

So , Perimeter of recatangle = 2(l+b)

40cm = 2(2x + 2 + x )

40cm = 2(3x + 2)

40cm = 6x +4

36 =6x

x=6 cm

Breadth of rectangle is 6cm

Length of rectangle = 2x+2 14cm
